Colorectal Surgery

Colorectal surgery repairs damage to the colon, rectum, and anus caused by diseases of the lower digestive tract, such as cancer, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease).

There are many different kinds of colon surgery and a variety of procedures to treat lower intestinal tract disorders. These may be performed either open or with a minimally-invasive technique.

Right Hemi-Colectomy
Portions of the ascending colon and the transverse colon are removed. The colon is then connected to the end of the small intestine.

Left Hemi Colectomy
